By the year 2016, the Department of Children and Families (DFYS) will be mandating that we follow the New Jersey new First Steps Infant/Toddler Initiative Program and the New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards.Rather than waiting for these mandates to occur, Crossroads has jumped on the bandwagon and has joined Grow NJ Kids. By joining up now and voluntarily complying with these future standards, we will be able to get grant money to buy necessary items, purchase a research based curriculum, etc. We don’t know how much they will provide, but the grant money will not be available if we wait until 2016.
